What is APA Format?

APA (American Psychological Association) format is the most widely used citation style in the social sciences, education, business, and nursing. APA 7th Edition Key Changes

The 7th edition brought several important changes from the 6th edition:

  • Publisher location is no longer required for books.
  • Up to 20 authors can be listed (previously capped at 7).
  • DOIs are formatted as URLs (https://doi.org/...).
  • "Retrieved from" is no longer used before URLs.
  • New source types including social media, podcasts, and AI-generated content.
  • Singular "they" is endorsed as a gender-neutral pronoun.
